FHSC Code of Conduct
Fountain Hills Soccer Club strives to provide the best possible environment for youth players and play an important role in promoting the physical, social, and emotional development of young people. Therefore, it is essential for parents, coaches, spectators, and officials to encourage youth athletes to embrace the values of good sportsmanship. Furthermore, parents, coaches, spectators, and officials involved in youth sports events should be models of good sportsmanship and should lead by example by demonstrating fairness, respect, and self-control. Fountain Hills Soccer Club is committed to establishing an environment that is safe and fosters optimal learning opportunities for all our players.
To maintain a positive environment for the children enrolled in our league, all FHSC participants must adhere to this Code of Conduct which requires that you commit to be responsible for your words and actions while attending, coaching, officiating, or participating with FHSC and that you conform your behavior to the following Code of Conduct:
I will treat coaches, players, opponents, referees, spectators and all other individuals with respect.
I will not engage in any behavior which would endanger the health, safety, or well-being of any coach, parent, player, participant, referee, or any other attendee.
I will not use drugs, alcohol or tobacco products while involved in any youth soccer activities, whether training, attending, or officiating games.
I will not use profanity, obscenity, or any other offensive language.
I will endeavor to ensure that no parents, spectators or anyone associated with my team use profanity, obscenity or any other offensive language while within the hearing of players or officials.
I will not engage in verbal or physical abuse towards any other coach, player, parent, spectator, participant, or official.
I will be punctual, arriving at games and practice well before the start time to have cleats, shin guards, and other training gear to be checked.
I will communicate any and all injuries, illness, conflicts, or problems to the head coach or a board member in a timely manner.
As a spectator and/or parent I will also:
I will calmly watch play and not shout instructions to my child or other players.
I will not question the calls of the referee or the actions of coaches.
I will provide encouragement to any and all players.
I will support my child’s efforts to be on time and prepared for all training sessions, games, and other team related activities.
I will make sure my child comes to training sessions and games with appropriate equipment.
Except in the case of an emergency, I will refrain from entering the team bench area and discussing issues with the team or coach, unless asked to do so by the coach.
During any event sanctioned by the FHSC, anyone who is asked to leave the area by a FHSC Board Member, whether or not a red card is issued, or anyone who is listed on a written complaint from an official (referee, coach, or FHSC voting board member) may after an appropriate hearing by the FHSC President, Vice President and Director of Coaches, may be subject to the following:
First Offense - Removal of Parents and Player for a 1 week suspension period.
Second Offense - Removal of Parents and Player for a 2 week suspension period.
Third Offense - Expulsion from the FHSC for the remainder of the season.
In the event of an incident where an individual cannot be identified or multiple individuals are at fault, all parents and spectators may be restricted from attendance at games, practices and any activities sanctioned by the FHSC. These penalties will be assessed after an appropriate hearing has been conducted by the FHSC President, Vice President and Director of Coaches within 3 days of the occurrence.
Note: All parents complete the digital agreement to the above code of conduct at the time of registration.
